Larsen & Toubro Limited case study demonstrates a complete solution developed in close association with an ISV (L&T EmSyS) for providing light control facilities for Building Management Solution. The solution displays the layout of lights on each floor of the building and has controls to manage remotely. Thus saving electricity expenses for customers and aids in their “GO GREEN” initiatives. This solution is built on end-to-end Microsoft platform and includes pull-through for Windows Server, SQL server apart from Visio. This is the FIRST solution case study across the World to help customers reduce electricity expenses.
EmSyS is a business unit of Larsen & Toubro Limited and is dedicated to embedded systems and software. It offers services related to hardware, software and firmware development in diverse verticals. EmSyS has developed a building management solution (BMS) that helps companies manage lights in various sections of a building. This visual solution driven by Microsoft® Visio 2007 enables a facilities manager to control lights in the building without visiting each floor. The solution has been developed on the Microsoft® .NET platform and uses Microsoft® SQL Server™ as the database. EmSyS has developed this solution in partnership with a lighting hardware company. With this solution, power savings to the tune of 20-25% can be realized. The solution also increases lifespan of lighting equipment contributing to further cost savings.
